LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

"Be a star in someone's life" is the 2008 3 Rivers CFC theme. It symbolizes that you, the Federal Community, can brighten the lives of those in need.

Once again, we are given the opportunity to feed the hungry, provide special education for the disabled, promote environmental protection, prevent and treat diseases and much more.

In the past, you have made the choice to reach out and be a saving star in someone's life. Your support has enabled many to receive benefits they would not have had without your generosity.

Last year, Federal civilian employees and military personnel throughout the 3 Rivers Region demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to our community by raising $1,045,000. This year the goal is to surpass $1,100,000. At first, this amount may seem unattainable, but by educating potential donors of the advantages of giving through the CFC, we can reach for the stars and bring light and hope into someone's life.

The Combined Federal Campaign protects Federal employees from year-round, in-the-workplace solicitation by charitable organizations. It allows you to direct exactly where your contribution goes. Also, the CFC is the most cost efficient funding source of charitable agencies, meaning the money you give goes to the charity of your choice at a minimal cost for processing. Simply stated, the CFC is a convenient, direct and cost effective way for you to help charities help others. Won't you join us in making the 2008 campaign the best ever?
