On behalf of the 3 RIVERS COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN, I cordially invite all current and former Federal Employees, military personnel and their guests to our third fall golf event, sponsored by GEICO. We moved the event to East of the city this year after two years in Beaver County, and the price went up a few bucks, but we thought it was fair to move the event around the area.  With morning coffee and pastry, lunch, soft drinks, bottled water, draft beer, favors and a hot buffet, followed by lots of prizes, you still can’t beat the deal.

While we try to promote a sense of community among the government work force and military, and to boost the awareness of the CFC, we do this by having a low-key, fun day. This is NOT a fund raising event, although we do have a “buy a mulligan for a buck” raffle benefiting one or more of the participating charities, and a very short program related to the campaign.

If you came in ’06 or ‘07, you were possibly reminded of the old Federal Executive Board outings, where the idea was to have fun no matter how well you normally play, or how well you score that day (right down to the traditional free golf ball). While we do have medalist (low gross) and skill prizes, we also have a Peoria scoring event, which gives everyone an equal chance to win. For those not familiar with this system, 6 holes are randomly picked after everyone tees off, and your score on those holes determines your handicap for the day. So every hole counts, for better or worse, but you don’t know which while you play. We allow “winter” rules, sell mulligans, and otherwise horrify the USGA rules committee, but we want you to come back next year, not have a meltdown.

Please honor the September 1 deadline. While we may get cooperation from the course regarding late additions, substitutions and cancellations, we cannot guarantee entry after the deadline (or even if we get filled up before September 1) so don’t put it off - enter right away!  No refunds after we give them a final number 7 days before the event (course policy is a rain check rather than refund).

Please fill out the application completely (download from this website or use one from an e mail announcement) and enclose payment. If things come down to the wire for spots, entries with payment go before of any entries sent without payment. The first name on the form will be the primary contact. Of course, we will accept less-than-foursome entries, and will form foursomes and threesomes from those players. Please tell your group to arrive no later than 8:30 AM. Directions are on the course’s website at www.meadowinkgolf.com
